International Festival Charity Bazaar 2023

The UNWG organizes an annual one-day International Festival Bazaar for the public with free admission. There are gift items for sale from around the world and special food and drink offered by kitchens from 80 countries. There are also international cultural performances for the family. UNWG members and volunteers from the international communities in Vienna take part in the Bazaar. Embassies and international missions to the UN have provided support through the years. Austrian and international businesses also contribute to the success of the Bazaar. Since 1968, the Bazaar has raised over €5 million for charity.

The UNWG suspended the International Charity Bazaar in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  A smaller Bazaar was held in 2022 at the Marx Halle due to the residual effects of the pandemic. We were able to raise funds to cover the cost with some surplus for our children’s charity fund. With the funds raised at the 2022 Bazaar and money raised by other UNWG activities, the UNWG was able to grant €60,326 in 2023 to children's charities in nine countries.
